Seat Inca Diesel Overheating Problem

Yeah, focus on the main cable and plug first. Give them a wiggle and see if the fan kicks in. As for the temperature control, I noticed the temp gauge fluctuating a lot before my fan gave up completely. But honestly, electrical gremlins can be a pain. If you're not confident, best take it to a workshop. Could save you a bigger headache (and cost!) down the line. Vehicle overheating can quickly damage the electric motor.

Cheers for the reply! When you say 'wiring', are we talking about the main cable going to the engine cooling fan, or are there other bits I should be looking at? And what sort of weirdness are you talking about with the temperature control? I've not really noticed anything, but I'm not exactly mechanically minded...

Got my Inca back from the garage. It was a dodgy connection, like you thought. 95€ all in. Thanks for the heads up, you saved me a lot of stress!

Whoa, overheating is no joke! I had a similar scare with my Inca (petrol though). Engine cooling is crucial, and if that electric fan isn't kicking in, things heat up fast. Check the fan's relay and fuse first – easy checks. Then give the wiring a good once-over, especially the plug connecting to the fan motor. See if there's any corrosion or loose connections. Has the temperature control been acting weird at all before it started overheating?
