Seat Inca Headlight Range Control Fault

I'm having trouble. My 2001 Seat Inca diesel is showing a headlight range control fault. The error is stored, the warning light is on, and the low beam is shining all wrong. Has anyone seen this before? Could a bad servomotor in the headlight cause all this?

I had something similar happen with my Volvo. Same warning lights, weird light intensity, and an error code. Have you looked at the wiring harness to the headlight switch and the control module? Might be worth a look before you assume it's the servomotor.

When you say wiring harness, do you mean the connector at the headlight itself, or somewhere else?

Yes, I meant the connector at the headlight. But also trace the wires back toward the control module if you can. If the error code is specific to the servomotor, that's probably it. Given the symptoms, and if you aren't comfortable with electrics, a workshop is probably the best bet.

Just to let you know, the shop confirmed it was a defective servomotor in the headlight. Repair set me back 1040€, but it's sorted. Thanks for the input!
