Seat Inca Key Battery Issue

My 2001 Seat Inca with a gasoline engine is throwing a 'key battery low' warning. The keyless access is gone, and unlocking is acting up. Is it just a dead key battery, or could it be something more?

Low voltage on the car key is common. I'm surprised the battery is causing problems with that mileage. Is the error memory showing anything else?

I checked the error memory, and that's the only error related to the key or central locking. Could it be the car's receiver, or is the key battery the most likely culprit?

If the error memory is only showing the low battery, that's probably the cause. A receiver problem is possible, but the battery is more likely. I'd replace the battery first.

It was the dead key battery. Replacement cost 37€, and everything's working as it should. Thanks for the assistance.
