Seat Inca Mirror Heaters Not Working

I'm pulling my hair out here. My 2003 Seat Inca diesel's mirror heaters have stopped working. The error memory shows a fault, but I'm betting it's just a dodgy cable or plug. Has this happened to anyone before? It's a pain, especially now that winter driving is here and temperature control is important for visibility.

Sounds like a common issue. The heater element in the car mirror itself can fail, but you're right, a faulty connection is more likely. Have you checked the fuse for the mirror heaters? Sometimes it's the simple things. Also, do both mirrors not work, or just one?

Good point about the fuse, I should have mentioned I checked that first, it's fine. And yes, both mirrors are affected. Any thoughts?

Ah, both mirrors not working points away from the heater element itself being faulty. I had a similar issue on my old car, also traced to a connector. If both are out, a common connection point is suspect. Given the age and the error code, I reckon your 'faulty connector' hunch is spot on. Probably best to have a mechanic take a look before you start pulling things apart. Could save you some time and hassle.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. I just got it back from the shop. Turns out it was indeed a faulty connector, as suspected. 95€ later, I have working mirror heaters again. No more scraping ice off in cold weather!
