Seat Inca passenger seat issue

I'm officially losing it with this passenger seat! I've got a 2003 Seat Inca, gasoline engine, with a little over 120000 km on the clock, and the passenger seat is playing up big time. Plugged it into the diagnostics, and it's throwing up an error in the error memory related to the seat. The seat adjustment is completely dead. From what I've read, a heavily discharged or defective battery can cause this, but I'm scratching my head. Has anyone else battled this? I've checked the seat harness and fuses, and they seem okay. Any ideas before I set fire to it?

Summary of the thread

The main issue discussed is a malfunctioning passenger seat in a 2003 Seat Inca, with diagnostics indicating an error related to the seat. A potential cause identified is a heavily discharged or defective battery affecting the seat's electrics. After checking the seat harness and fuses, the problem was resolved by replacing the dead battery and resetting the system, restoring the seat's functionality.

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had a similar headache with my Seat Cordoba. Error codes popping up all over the place, and the passenger seat was stuck like it was glued down. Did you check the seat switch itself? Sometimes those get a bit wonky.

The seat switch, eh? I had a quick look, but everything seemed plugged in okay. What sort of issue did you have with yours? Was it visibly broken, or was it more of a dodgy connection thing?

Yeah, mine wasn't visibly broken, just playing up intermittently. I messed around with the seat harness, but no luck. Honestly, after a bit of head scratching, I just took it to the workshop. They ran a proper diagnostic and traced it back to the battery causing low voltage issues that screwed with the electrics in the seat. Might be worth getting yours properly checked out, could save you a lot of time and frustration!

Just wanted to say thanks for the heads up. Turns out you were spot on! Dropped it into the shop, and yeah, it was a dead battery causing havoc with the passenger seat. New battery and a reset later, and it's all working perfectly. Cost me 290€, but hey, at least it's fixed!
