An interesting point. Could you perhaps elaborate on the symptoms you observed with your vehicle, and what diagnostic steps were undertaken to pinpoint the thermal sensor as the source of the heater failure?

Certainly. The seat heating would only activate intermittently, and the VCDS scan indicated implausible signal from the thermal sensor. While the heating element ultimately proved to be degraded, replacing the sensor first would be a good step. However, given the age of your vehicle, a comprehensive inspection by a qualified technician is advisable.

Acknowledged and much appreciated. Following diagnostics, the heating element within the seat cushion was indeed the culprit. The workshop has quoted 390€ for replacement. Thank you for your help.

I had similar seat heating issues with my Inca. Did you check the thermal sensor? Sometimes a faulty sensor can trigger a fault code and prevent the seat from heating up. It is worth investigating before condemning the entire heating element.
