Seat Inca SOS Error

My 2003 Seat Inca with a gasoline engine is showing an error related to the emergency call system. The error memory stores the fault, an error message appears in the speedometer, and the warning light is on. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue with my Inca's telematics system. That SOS signal error kept popping up. Have you checked the wiring harness behind the instrument cluster? Sometimes a loose connection there can trigger false alarms in the emergency call system.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly is the wiring harness located? And is it difficult to access? I'm familiar with some basic car maintenance, but I'm not an expert.

The wiring harness is behind the instrument cluster. Accessing it requires removing the cluster itself. If you're not comfortable with that, I would advise against tinkering with the automotive electronics yourself. Incorrect handling can cause even more issues. Given the error code points to a defective connection and the potential impact on car safety, it's best to get it checked by a workshop. They can diagnose the car safety system and ensure the SOS signal functions correctly.

The workshop confirmed a faulty plug connection. They cleaned it, and the error is resolved. 95€ well spent. Thanks for your help!
