Seat Leon audio system malfunction

My Seat Leon built in with a diesel engine has developed an audio problem. The audio system does not work at all. There is no audio output of any kind. The interface looks OK, but there is just radio silence. Any ideas?

I had a similar audio issue with my Leon. Have you noticed any sound distortion before the complete radio silence? Does it affect all car speakers, or just some? Also, have you checked all audio connectivity, including Bluetooth? The symptoms you describe could point to a few different issues.

There was some sound distortion before the audio completely died. I'm not sure if it affects specific car speakers. It would be the same as if the volume was turned to zero. All audio connectivity is affected, it's not specifically just a Bluetooth issue. Anything else you can think of?

Okay, sound distortion preceding complete failure sounds like a failing speaker. My issue was similar, gradual degradation then nothing. While it could be something else, a defective bass speaker is a likely culprit. I would recommend taking it to a workshop to get it checked.

Thanks, I appreciate the help. I took it to a workshop, and it turned out the bass speaker was defective. The audio system works perfectly now. The repair ended up costing 280€, parts and labor.
