Seat Leon Diesel EGR Valve Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Seat Leon diesel is experiencing issues such as a check engine light, reduced engine power, smoke from the exhaust, rough running, increased fuel consumption, jerking, and a hissing sound during acceleration. These symptoms suggest a potential problem with the EGR valve. A similar case confirmed that a faulty EGR valve was the cause, and replacing it resolved the issues, leading to smoother car performance.

Yes, the fuel consumption has definitely increased noticeably, and there's some rough engine running now. Was the EGR valve the culprit in your case as well?

Yep, sounds very familiar. My check engine was on and vehicle emissions increased because of a faulty EGR valve. I suggest you take it to a workshop ASAP.

The workshop confirmed it was the EGR valve. Replacement cost 355€. The car runs smoothly now. Thanks for sharing your experience; it provided a good starting point and saved diagnostic time.

I had something similar happen with my Leon not too long ago. Reduced power and the check engine light were the first signs. Did you notice any difference in fuel consumption?
