Thanks! I haven't noticed any smoke, but the MOT is coming up, so emissions are a concern. The rough idling is driving me nuts. Do you remember how they found the problem? Did they check the fuel?

That rough idle is awful! They ran a diagnostic check and found the bad injector. They didn't check the fuel since it's a diesel. Given your symptoms and the car's age, I'd guess a leaky injector. Get it checked by someone with the right tools. It's not worth risking more engine damage.

Just picked up the Leon. It was a faulty injector nozzle, like you thought. Cost me 515€. Runs great now, and I hope the fuel consumption goes back to normal. Thanks again for the help!

Sounds like injector trouble. I had a similar issue with my Leon. Have you seen any unusual smoke from the exhaust? A bad injector can mess with the air/fuel mixture, causing more emissions.
