Seat Leon Diesel Engine Trouble

I'm having trouble. My 2009 Seat Leon with a diesel engine is giving me headaches. It's got 92142 km on it. The engine's running rough, and the check engine light is on. I scanned it, and it's showing something about 'reset quantity drift compensation'. I'm guessing it's something with the fuel injectors? Could an injection valve be defective? Has anyone else run into this?

Whoa, rough engine running and check engine light? Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Leon, though it's a bit newer. Rough idling, plus the light. Have you scanned it for error codes? Mine was throwing codes related to fuel trim and misfires. I'd start with onboard diagnostics.

I scanned it and got an error saying something about 'reset quantity drift compensation'. What exactly did you do to fix yours? Did you mess with the airflow sensors or anything?

That 'quantity drift compensation' thing rings a bell. Basically, the ECU is trying to adjust the fuel injection to compensate for an issue, but it can only do so much. In my case, it turned out to be a faulty injector. Get it checked by a pro, as it's beyond simple performance tuning or compensation adjustment. Ignoring it could lead to bigger problems.

Thanks for the insight. I took it to a mechanic, and you were spot on. It was a defective injector. I had all four replaced, it cost me 515€, but the engine's running smoothly now. Hopefully, my fuel economy will improve too.
