Seat Leon Error Memory Lock

My Seat Leon from is giving me grief! Keep getting an error stored in the error memory; mileage is 74602 km. Apparently, it's a 'fault memory lock active' due to possible undervoltage in the vehicle. Seriously, what does that even mean?

Sounds familiar. I've got a Leon too, and had something similar happen. Was the control unit actually faulty, or just throwing up an error? Did they check for any parasitic drain on the battery?

Parasitic drain, huh? I'm no car electronics expert, so I'm not sure what they checked exactly. But if it was just a temporary thing, why the memory lock? Shouldn't the error just clear itself?

Yeah, mine did the same thing. The error wouldn't clear until they reset the control unit. In my case, it was a dodgy connection causing the undervoltage. I'd take it to a workshop that specializes in ECU diagnostics to be sure. They should be able to pinpoint the issue.

Garage confirmed the ECU diagnostics showed a memory lock due to undervoltage. They cleared the ECU fault, and everything's running smoothly now. Cost me 240€. Thanks for the advice!
