Seat Leon exhaust noise and error

Alright, I'm getting a bit frustrated with my 2018 Seat Leon with a gasoline engine. It's done 165534 km and I've got an error stored in the memory, and the exhaust noise is way louder than usual, especially that noisy engine running after cold start is annoying. I'm pretty sure it's something to do with the exhaust flaps being defective. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Summary of the thread

A 2018 Seat Leon owner experienced a loud exhaust noise and an error code, particularly noticeable during cold starts. The issue was suspected to be defective exhaust flaps. Suggestions included checking the wiring to the exhaust components, but ultimately, the problem was confirmed to be the exhaust flaps. The owner resolved the issue by having the exhaust flaps repaired at a workshop.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Louder exhaust and error codes? Sounds like those exhaust valves are sticking. Had a similar thing happen on my old Golf. Check the wiring to the exhaust components first, might be something simple. But yeah, exhaust flaps are a known issue. Is it just noisy at startup or all the time?

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly should I be looking for the wiring? I'm not super familiar with the exhaust system layout, but I'm willing to give it a shot before taking it to a workshop. Also, it's definitely worse on cold starts, but still louder than it should be when it's warmed up.

Okay, since it's worse on cold starts and still present when warmed up, it's probably not just a loose wire. The exhaust flaps themselves are likely the culprit if you're getting an error code related to the exhaust system. Honestly, unless you're comfortable working on exhaust components, it might be best to take it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly and replace the exhaust flaps. It's a common enough issue they should know what to do.

Okay, perfect! I got it sorted. It was indeed the exhaust flaps like you said. Paid 190€ for the exhaust repair. Thanks a bunch for your help!
