Seat Leon GPS Navigation Problem

I am experiencing issues with the navigation system in my 2017 Seat Leon with a diesel engine. The navigation system is not receiving any GPS signal, and an error is stored in the error memory. Based on my research, the likely cause is a defective GPS antenna. Before I proceed with an antenna repair, I wanted to inquire if anyone has encountered a similar issue. I am trying to avoid unnecessary costs, as I understand that the GPS antenna repair could cost around 200€. Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar car GPS issue with my Seat Leon a while back. The symptoms you described, the error code and the lack of GPS signal, sound very familiar. Have you checked the connection to the GPS module itself? Sometimes, a loose connection can cause these problems. Also, is the GPS module easily accessible in your Seat Leon?

Thank you for your response. Where exactly is the GPS module located? I have checked some of the connections I could easily access, but I haven't located the GPS module. Also, how did you troubleshoot the issue on your Seat Leon?

On the Leon, the GPS module was located under the dashboard, which required some disassembly to access. The issue was indeed the GPS antenna, and after replacing it, the GPS signal was restored. Given the symptoms and the error code, it is very likely the antenna. If you are not comfortable with further diagnosis, I recommend taking it to a workshop for confirmation. They should be able to pinpoint the issue and provide an accurate cost estimate.

Thank you for the insights. I took the vehicle to the workshop, and as suspected, the GPS antenna was indeed defective. The antenna repair cost came to around 200€, as initially estimated. The car GPS is now working flawlessly, so I appreciate your help in confirming the likely cause.
