Seat Leon Hybrid AC Failure

I haven't specifically checked for refrigerant leaks myself, no. Just noticed the error code and the lack of cooling. I assumed the control unit because that's what the code pointed to. But how would I go about checking for leaks? And wouldn't a blocked condenser cause other issues besides just the AC not working?

Yeah, with the Corsa, the initial diagnosis pointed towards the control unit too. I eventually found a small refrigerant leak at one of the connections. As for checking, look for oily residue around the AC lines and compressor. A blacklight can sometimes help spot leaks too, after a dye has been added to the system. And yes, a blocked condenser can cause other issues, but it often starts with reduced AC performance. Honestly, given the symptoms and error code, it probably is the control unit. I'd suggest getting a professional diagnosis before throwing parts at it. A proper automotive cooling specialist should be able to confirm it.

Took it to a mechanic. They confirmed the AC control unit was faulty, just like the error code suggested. Ended up costing 980€ for the replacement and refrigerant refill. Not ideal, but at least the air conditioning is working again. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

That sounds similar to an AC unit issue I had with my old Vauxhall Corsa. Error in the memory, AC wouldn't switch on, and a warning light. Have you checked for any obvious refrigerant leaks? A leak could cause the compressor to fail and throw those errors. Also, has the system been properly diagnosed to confirm it's definitely the AC control unit and not something else like a faulty pressure sensor or a blocked condenser?
