Seat Leon Hybrid Engine Running Rough

I'm having a problem with my 2022 Seat Leon hybrid. The engine's been running really rough. Feels like it's down on power, the check engine light is on, and fuel consumption has gone through the roof. Plus, it's jerking when I accelerate. I suspect it is a defective fuel injector, could this be the cause? Could this damage the catalytic converter?

Reduced engine power and rough running could stem from several sources. Have you checked the condition of your spark plugs? When was the last time the air filter was replaced? I experienced similar symptoms on my old Volvo after a faulty mass airflow sensor reading. You should get the error codes read.

Thanks for the quick reply! Spark plugs were changed about 20000 km ago, and the air filter looks clean. I did get the error codes read, and it's pointing towards the engine running too rich. What was the specific issue with your Volvo and what did you do to fix it?

My Volvo had similar symptoms due to a faulty fuel injector. The car was running rich, and the error codes pointed to it. I initially tried cleaning the injectors, but the problem persisted. Eventually, I had to replace all of the fuel injectors. Given your error codes, it might be wise to get a professional diagnosis at a workshop.

Took the Leon to the workshop as you suggested. Turns out, you were spot on with the fuel injectors. Replaced them, and now it's running like new. Total cost was 515€, which stings, but at least the problem's solved. Thanks for the help!
