Seat Leon Hybrid Rear Window Heating Problem

I am writing to inquire about a problem I am experiencing with my 2022 Seat Leon hybrid. The rear window heating is not functioning. I have scanned the vehicle's error memory and found a relevant fault code. Furthermore, the windshield heating seems less effective than usual. The car has 70936 km on the odometer. Based on some initial research, a heavily discharged or defective battery seems like a potential cause. Has anyone encountered a similar issue with the rear defroster or thermal window? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a pain. I had a similar problem with my Skoda Octavia a while back. The rear defroster stopped working and I was getting some weird error codes too. Have you checked the heating coil fuse? That was the culprit in my case.

Thanks for the tip! I haven't checked the fuses yet. Do you recall which fuse specifically controls the rear defroster? Also, did you notice any other electrical issues at the same time?

Unfortunately, I don't remember the exact fuse number. And yes, I also had issues with some other electrical components. Given that you have error codes and the windshield heating is also affected, it's probably more than just a fuse. I would recommend taking it to a workshop for a proper diagnostic check. Better safe than sorry with modern car electrics.

As suspected, the issue was indeed related to the battery. After running diagnostics, the workshop confirmed it was heavily discharged. Replacing it resolved the issue with the rear defroster and the thermal window. The total cost was 290€ including labor and the new battery.
