Seat Leon Hybrid Solar Sensor Issue

I need some help with my 2023 Seat Leon hybrid. I'm getting a really annoying error code related to the solar sensor, and the heating output is pathetic, especially now that it's getting cold! The car has around 69528 km on the clock. My mechanic suggested it's likely a dodgy cable or plug connection to the component. Has anyone experienced something similar? Any thoughts on whether a sensor calibration might fix this, or am I looking at a more serious HVAC sensor issue? I really don’t want to replace the whole car sensor!

Summary of the thread

A 2023 Seat Leon hybrid was experiencing an error code related to the solar sensor, resulting in poor heating performance. The issue was suspected to be a faulty cable or plug connection. A mechanic suggested that a sensor calibration might resolve the problem, but it was ultimately determined that a faulty connection was the cause. The workshop cleaned and secured the contacts, resolving the issue and restoring proper heating functionality.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

That's interesting. A faulty HVAC sensor could definitely cause the heating issues you're experiencing, especially on a hybrid. Have you checked the sensor's wiring for any obvious damage or corrosion? Where is the solar sensor located in the Leon? Is it on the dashboard?

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the wiring myself because I wasn't sure where to start looking, and honestly, I'm not that confident poking around with the electrics. You mentioned the location of the solar sensor. Exactly where on the dashboard should I be looking? Any tips on how to visually inspect the wiring without causing more problems?

Okay, if the error code specifically points to the solar sensor and you're experiencing low heating, it's very likely the root cause. Given your lack of experience with electrics, and considering the repair cost of 95€, my advice is to take it to a workshop. They'll have the necessary tools and expertise to properly diagnose and repair the connection or replace the solar sensor if needed.

I took the Leon to the workshop. It was indeed a faulty connection to the solar sensor, just like the error code suggested. They cleaned the contacts and secured the plug. Everything works perfectly now, and the heating is blasting hot air again. The whole thing cost me 95€, including the error diagnostics and repair. Thanks again for your help!
