Seat Leon Hybrid Transmission Problem

I am experiencing a perplexing issue with my 2023 Seat Leon hybrid. The automatic transmission seems to have developed a fault. The engine refuses to start, accompanied by the check engine light. Further investigation reveals the gearbox slips or shifts uncleanly, and an error is stored in the error memory. Could a defective control unit be the culprit, particularly affecting the parking position and possibly causing a transmission failure? Has anyone encountered a similar transmission repair scenario?

Transmission issues can indeed be vexing. I once encountered a similar predicament with my Volvo – though a different brand, the symptoms you describe resonate. Did you by any chance observe any unusual behavior with the park brake engagement prior to the transmission failure?

Interesting parallel with the Volvo. Regarding the park brake, now that you mention it, there were instances where it seemed reluctant to fully engage. Is it possible the park brake issue is related to these transmission issues?

Affirmative. In my Volvo's case, a faulty control unit led to both transmission issues and park brake malfunctions. Considering your Seat Leon's symptoms and the stored error, a workshop visit for a thorough diagnosis is advisable.

Took the Leon to the workshop. You were spot on; the control unit was indeed defective, causing the transmission issues and preventing the engine from starting. The park brake was also affected, as suspected. Transmission repair set me back 1000€, but it's running smoothly again. Thanks for the insight.
