Seat Leon Hybrid Undervoltage Issue

My 2020 Seat Leon hybrid is giving me grief. It keeps saying there's an undervoltage issue. The car starts poorly, some of the systems are failing, the lights are weak and flickering, and the battery feels weak when starting. Could it be a defective battery? Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

A 2020 Seat Leon hybrid is experiencing an undervoltage issue, leading to poor starting, failing systems, and flickering lights. The problem may stem from a defective battery or a parasitic draw. Suggested solutions include checking battery health and voltage drop, and consulting a qualified workshop for proper diagnosis. Ultimately, a garage confirmed a heavily discharged battery, and replacing it resolved the issue.

That sounds frustrating. I had a similar issue with my BMW 3 series. It turned out to be a parasitic draw on the battery when the car was off, causing a low voltage situation and weird electrical problems. Have you checked the battery health recently? Are you experiencing significant voltage drop when starting the engine?

Parasitic draw? That sounds complicated. How did you figure that out? How do I check for battery health and voltage drop? I'm not really sure where to start.

Figuring out the parasitic draw involved diagnostics with a multimeter, which can be tricky. Most garages can do a quick battery health test. For voltage drop, measure the voltage at the battery terminal while someone starts the car; a significant drop indicates a problem. Given the symptoms and that it's a hybrid, I recommend taking it to a qualified workshop. They can properly diagnose the power supply issue and ensure the hybrid system isn't contributing to the low voltage.

Took the Leon to the garage. They confirmed a heavily discharged battery. Replacement and terminal cleaning seems to have resolved everything. Total cost was 290€. Thanks for the advice.
