Seat Leon Injection System Problems

I'm at my wit's end with my 2009 Seat Leon (gasoline engine). The injection system seems to be failing. Getting higher fuel consumption, seriously reduced engine performance, stalls at idle, and smokes a bit when accelerating. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone had similar issues?

I had a similar issue with my Leon. Symptoms sound very familiar. When you say "reduced engine power," can you elaborate? Does it happen at specific RPMs or under certain loads? Also, have you checked for any obvious fuel leaks?

The power loss is mostly noticeable when accelerating uphill or when the engine is cold. I haven't seen any fuel leaks, but I can definitely smell fuel more than usual, especially after a short trip. Any further ideas?

Okay, the fuel smell is a red flag. Given the symptoms and my past experience, it's highly likely a connection issue within the injection system, affecting the fuel mixture. I would recommend getting it checked at a workshop; they'll be able to diagnose it properly. Better safe than sorry, especially with potential fuel leaks.

Thanks for the insight. Took it to a workshop, and you were spot on – faulty cable connection in the injection system. Cost me 95€ to fix. Now the Leon is running like new.
