Seat Leon rough running and stalling issues

Alright, I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I've got a 2009 Seat Leon with a gasoline engine, and it's started acting up recently. The check engine light is on, and the engine runs really rough, especially at idle. It even stalls sometimes. Also, I'm experiencing jerking when accelerating. I suspect it's the fuel pressure sensor. Could a defective cable or plug connection really cause these issues? What about the fuel pump?

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms – check engine light, rough idle – with my old Opel Corsa. Turned out to be a dodgy pressure sensor too. Have you checked the wiring and connector to the sensor? Could be a loose or corroded connection. Is the fuel delivery consistent?

Interesting, that's good to know. When you say 'dodgy pressure sensor', was it giving completely wrong readings, or just fluctuating? And did you replace it yourself, or did you take it to a professional? What about the fuel system?

In my case, the sensor readings were all over the place, causing the ECU to freak out. I didn't replace it myself; I'm not that confident with fuel systems. A workshop diagnosed and fixed it. They mentioned the fuel pump was fine, just the pressure sensor causing the problems. I'd recommend getting it checked out professionally if you're unsure about the fuel pressure.

Just wanted to say thanks for the input. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was a defective fuel pressure sensor, likely due to a faulty connection as we suspected. They replaced the sensor, cleaned the connections, and it seems to have solved the problem. Total cost was 95€. Hopefully, this info is useful to someone else down the line facing similar issues.
