Seat Mii Air Conditioning Fault

Help needed! My 2018 Seat Mii with a gasoline engine is giving me grief. The air conditioning has packed it in and the error memory is showing a fault with the rear ventilation flap. The climate control is going haywire. I'm guessing it's a cable or plug issue with the flap actuator, which seems like the 'likely cause' according to some forums I've read. Anyone else had this? I’m looking at a potential HVAC repair bill of 95€ which sounds steep, but I NEED my automatic climate control!

Summary of the thread

A 2018 Seat Mii with a gasoline engine experienced an air conditioning failure, with an error indicating a fault in the rear ventilation flap. The suspected cause was a cable or plug issue with the flap actuator. The solution involved cleaning and re-seating the plug connection to the actuator, which resolved the problem and restored the air conditioning functionality. The repair was completed at a garage for an estimated cost of 95€.

That's a bummer! I've heard of similar issues with the climate control on those little SEATs. When you say the air conditioning no longer cools, do you mean it's completely dead, or just not as effective as it used to be? And does the front still work fine? Also, have you checked the fuse for the climate control system? It might be a simple fix. The rear ventilation flap, is it completely stuck or just not responding to adjustments?

The aircon is basically not working at all. The front is also affected, blowing warm air. I did check the fuses, all seem fine. The rear ventilation flap, I can't really tell if it's stuck or not moving, I just get an error code and no cold air. Where exactly is the flap actuator located? Is it something I can get to myself to check the connection?

Okay, if the front aircon is also blowing warm, and the fuse is fine, it really does sound like the flap actuator circuit. As for location, without having your exact model variant in front of me, it's tough to say precisely. It will be somewhere in the HVAC unit behind the dashboard. Honestly, getting to it usually involves removing a fair chunk of the dash, and you'd need to know what you're doing to avoid damaging things. Given the potential cost of 95€, I’d say bite the bullet and take it to a workshop. They will diagnose and fix it, and at least you have some idea of the issue and a price to expect. Plus, they can properly clear the error codes from the system.

Got it sorted at the garage. It was exactly what we suspected, a dodgy connection to the flap actuator. They cleaned it, re-seated the plug, and cleared the error. Aircon's blowing cold again and the rear passengers aren't complaining! Cost me 95€, so bang on the estimate. Thanks for your help!
