Seat Mii alarm siren communication fault

My 2016 Seat Mii, gasoline engine, is showing a 'Siren communication fault' error. The alarm system is completely non-functional. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone experienced similar issues? I am thinking maybe the alarm controller is broken?

Sounds like the alarm siren is acting up. Is the car battery in good shape? I had a similar issue with my Mii, the alarm would randomly go off. Could it be a voltage problem?

The battery seems fine, no issues starting the car or with other electrical components. But the alarm system doesn't work at all. When you had this issue, did the error memory also report a communication fault with the siren? Was it the alarm disarm function that failed?

Yes, same error message! And it was the alarm disarm too. I tried checking the fuses, but no luck. Honestly, I'd take it to a workshop. Probably a wiring issue as you suspect.

It was indeed a wiring issue. The plug to the siren was corroded. Cleaned the contacts and now it is all good. Total cost 95€ including diagnostics. Thanks for the input, it helped narrow it down.
