Seat Mii automatic transmission issues

My 2014 Seat Mii with a gasoline engine is throwing a proper tantrum! Mileage is at 115859 km. The gear shift indicator is completely kaput, and I can't even engage the gears properly. The automatic transmission is shifting all over the place, feels like it's slipping, and I'm getting some nasty grinding noises when I try to shift. Plus, there's an error stored in the error memory. My guess is the gear selector control unit is defective. Anyone else had this? I've been quoted 1000€.

I experienced something similar with my Mii. The gear selector on the car dashboard went haywire. Was the electronic display showing any error codes or just a blank screen?

Error codes galore. The gear selection display was completely dead, and the gearbox was slipping like mad. Did you have grinding noises when shifting too? What was the final diagnosis and resolution in your case?

Yep, grinding noises too. The error codes pointed to a faulty gear selector. I recommend a workshop visit and a replacement control unit. Be prepared for a hefty bill. Automotive electronics can be a pain.

Just got the car back from the workshop. The gear selector control unit was indeed defective, as suspected. Cost me 1000€ to get it sorted. At least it's running smoothly now.
