Seat Mii automatic transmission issues

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the hydraulic fluid level myself, to be honest. Where exactly would I find that, and is it something I can easily check myself? Also, what do you mean by 'emergency mode'? Is that when the transmission performance feels totally off?

Yep, by 'emergency mode' I just meant when the transmission doesn't shift properly and feels like it's stuck in one gear. As for checking the hydraulic fluid, it's best left to a professional if you're not sure. You could try to find the dipstick for the automatic gearbox fluid, but it can be tricky to locate and check properly. Given the symptoms and mileage, it's very likely the hydraulic fluid needs changing, but the undervoltage could also be a factor. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop to get it checked out properly. They can diagnose the issue and advise on the best course of action.

Just wanted to let you know. I took the Mii to a local garage, and you were spot on! They checked the transmission fluid, and it was indeed past its best. They replaced it, and also found a slight undervoltage issue, which they sorted out. The bill came to 240€, but it's running like a dream now. Thanks so much for your help, I really appreciate it!

Hey! Sorry to hear you're having transmission problems. I had a similar issue with my Seat Mii (though mine's a bit older). The symptoms sound very familiar. Have you checked the hydraulic fluid level in the automatic gearbox? Slipping transmission and going into emergency mode can often be linked to low or degraded fluid. It's worth a look before you start thinking about major repairs.
