Seat Mii Electric AC Failure

I'm writing to seek assistance regarding an issue I'm encountering with my 2021 Seat Mii Electric. The air conditioning system has ceased to function, and a warning light is illuminated. Diagnostics revealed an error indicative of a refrigerant compressor failure. The AC system does not engage, and no cooling is produced. Assessments suggest a potentially defective AC control unit. Has anyone else experienced similar AC unit issues? Is this a common problem? I am trying to ascertain the extent of the potential repair costs associated with addressing this HVAC malfunction. The projected auto AC repair expenses are estimated at 980€.

Whoa, sounds rough! I had something similar happen with my Mii, though I didn't clock as many kilometers as you did. Is the compressor clutch engaging at all? Check the basics before you go too deep. A simple refrigerant leak can cause the whole system to shut down to protect itself. Also, any weird noises coming from the AC unit before it went kaput?

Thank you for your insights! I will certainly keep those in mind. Regarding the compressor clutch, I am unable to ascertain whether it is engaging. Prior to the failure, I did not observe any unusual sounds emanating from the AC unit. Could you elaborate on what you mean by 'the basics'? Furthermore, did you experience a comparable error code stored in the error memory?

Yeah, I had an error code too, pointing to the compressor. By basics, I meant checking for obvious refrigerant leak signs – oily residue around connections, that kind of thing. If you're not hearing the compressor kick on, and you've got a warning light, it's probably more than just a top-up job. Honestly, with those symptoms, I'd bite the bullet and get it to a workshop that knows their stuff with electric vehicles. Could be a pain to diagnose without the right tools.

Thank you for sharing your experience; it is very helpful. I took it to a certified workshop, and after a thorough inspection, they confirmed a defective AC control unit, which, in turn, caused the refrigerant compressor to fail. The repair cost came to around 980€. I authorized the repair, so hopefully, I will soon have a functioning cooling system again.
