Seat Mii Electric lighting fault

My 2021 Seat Mii Electric is throwing a strange lighting fault. The lights occasionally switch on by themselves, and I've pulled a fault code related to the light switch. I suspect a bad cable or plug connection. I'm thinking of checking the headlight switch and dimmer switch connections first. Has anyone experienced something similar with the automotive switch on these?

Summary of the thread

A 2021 Seat Mii Electric is experiencing a lighting fault where the lights turn on by themselves, with a fault code pointing to the light switch. The suspected causes include a bad cable or plug connection, possibly in the headlight or dimmer switch connections. Suggestions include checking the fuse box for loose or corroded fuses and inspecting the wires at the light switch connector for partial breaks. The issue was resolved by cleaning and securing the headlight switch contacts at a workshop.

I had a similar lighting issue with my Skoda Octavia a few years back. The lights would flicker intermittently. Have you checked the fuse box? A loose or corroded fuse related to the lighting circuit can cause all sorts of weirdness. Also, try wiggling the wires going into the light switch connector. It's possible a wire is partially broken inside the insulation.

Interesting, the fuse box is something I didn't consider. When you say 'wiggling the wires', do you mean individually at the connector? I'm trying to picture exactly what you did with your Octavia. Was the dimmer switch also affected in your case?

Yes, I meant individually wiggling the wires at the connector while the lights are on, to see if you can replicate the fault. In my case, the dimmer switch wasn't directly affected, but the overall lighting was erratic. Ultimately, I couldn't isolate it myself and ended up taking it to a workshop. They found a corroded pin in the headlight switch connector. Given the error code you're getting, it's probably best to get it properly diagnosed.

The workshop confirmed a faulty connection in the headlight switch. They cleaned the contacts and secured the plug. Total cost was 95€. Thanks for the input, it helped me focus my troubleshooting.
