Seat Mii Electric Temperature Sensor Issue

I am utterly dismayed. My 2021 Seat Mii (electric engine) is exhibiting some very concerning symptoms. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory related to the outside temperature sensor. As a result, the air conditioning system refuses to switch on, the spray nozzles are freezing at cold temperatures, and the mirror heating is completely non-functional. From what I've gathered, the likely cause is a defective cable or plug connection to the component. Have you had experience with this?

Summary of the thread

A 2021 Seat Mii electric vehicle was experiencing issues with the air conditioning, spray nozzles, and mirror heating due to an error related to the outside temperature sensor. The likely cause was identified as a defective cable or plug connection. The suggested solution was to check and clean the wiring and connectors, and possibly replace the sensor if necessary. After taking the car to a workshop, the faulty cable was replaced, resolving the issues.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Opel Corsa. The air conditioning wouldn't kick in, and the vehicle temperature gauge seemed off. Have you checked the wiring and connectors to the car temperature sensor? It might be as simple as a loose or corroded connection. It's like when your TV signal drops because the antenna cable isn't plugged in properly.

Thanks for the quick response. You mentioned checking the wiring and connectors. Is there anything specific I should be looking for, besides the obvious loose connection? Also, what about sensor calibration? Is that something I should be concerned about after sensor replacement?

Yeah, definitely have a good look at the wiring for any breaks or corrosion. Give the connector a clean with some contact cleaner if you have some. As for sensor calibration, I wouldn't worry too much about that unless the new sensor is giving obviously wrong readings. In my case, a simple sensor replacement fixed everything. However, if you are not sure I would recommend going to the workshop.

Took the Mii to the workshop, and you were spot on. The cable to the temperature sensor was indeed the culprit. They replaced it, and now everything is working perfectly. The air conditioning is blowing cold, and the mirror heating is functional again. Total cost was 95€.
