Seat Mii Engine Stalling Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Seat Mii with a gasoline engine and 184,369 km mileage experienced engine stalling at idle and an illuminated check engine light. The initial suspicion was a fuel tank ventilation system leak. Suggestions included checking the fuel cap and considering a faulty pressure sensor, but the focus was on the EVAP system. A workshop diagnosis confirmed a leak due to a defective activated charcoal filter, which was repaired, resolving the issue.

I did check the fuel cap, and it seems secure. Could a faulty pressure sensor also cause these symptoms, perhaps interfering with emission control?

A faulty pressure sensor is possible, but less likely than a problem within the EVAP system itself. Given the symptoms, especially the stalling, a defective charcoal filter is plausible. Professional diagnostics at a workshop would be prudent.

I appreciate your input. The workshop confirmed a leak in the fuel tank ventilation system, traced to a defective activated charcoal filter. The repair cost was 275€, and the issue is now resolved.

The check engine light and stalling suggest an issue with the EVAP system. Has the fuel cap been checked? A loose or faulty cap can trigger these symptoms, and also generate leak detection faults.
