Seat Mii rough idle and fuel consumption issues

I'm getting seriously frustrated with my 2016 Seat Mii with a gasoline engine. It has 92870 km on the clock and lately it's been a nightmare to start. Fuel consumption has gone up, the engine power is noticeably reduced, and it idles so rough it feels like it's going to stall. Sometimes it actually does! I suspect it might be a dirty injection valve, but I'm not sure. Could this be the problem?

That sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my Mii. Have you checked for any misfire codes? When my injection nozzle went bad, the engine was stumbling, especially at idle. I also noticed a drop in performance and the fuel consumption was terrible.

Misfire codes, you say? Where exactly do I check for that? And how did you eventually solve your problem?

Yes, I had the exact same symptoms. I'm no expert, but it really sounds like a faulty injector. I took mine to a workshop, and they confirmed it with some diagnostic tools. They told me a defective injection nozzle can cause all sorts of problems, including poor gasoline atomization and increased emissions. I suggest you do the same.

Thanks a lot for your help. It was indeed a defective injection nozzle. All four were replaced and the car runs like new. Cost me 515€, but at least the engine is smooth again and I'm hoping the emissions will be better now.
