Seat Mii uneven engine running

My 2018 Seat Mii with a gasoline engine is exhibiting uneven engine running at 116581 km. The check engine light is on, and an error is stored. It jerks when accelerating. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

A 2018 Seat Mii with a gasoline engine is experiencing uneven engine running, with the check engine light on and jerking during acceleration. Possible causes include issues with the ignition coil, crankshaft sensor, or fuel pump relay. A timing belt problem was also considered but deemed less likely. The problem was ultimately resolved by fixing a leak in the exhaust system, restoring smooth engine performance.

Rough idle and jerking can be tricky. I had similar symptoms with my old Renault Megane. Check the ignition coil and crankshaft sensor, or even the fuel pump relay. Has there been any recent work on the timing belt?

Fuel pump and crankshaft sensor, understood. Why the timing belt question?

A timing belt issue could affect timing, leading to rough running. But if the error code doesn't point to that, focus on fuel or ignition first. A workshop visit might be best at this point.

Thanks for the insight. It turned out to be a leak in the exhaust system. 265€ later and it's running smoothly again.
