Seat Tarraco ABS Lateral Sensor Issue

Yeah, I scanned it with a decent OBD scanner and it's throwing a code specifically for the lateral acceleration sensor - intermittent signal. I checked the connector, gave it a clean with contact cleaner, but the error keeps popping up. What are the chances it's something other than the sensor itself, given the code?

An intermittent signal code, combined with the symptoms and your checks, does strongly suggest the lateral sensor itself is the culprit. While wiring can still be an issue, especially chafing within the harness, the intermittent nature often points to internal sensor failure. Given the cost involved and the safety implications with the ABS and ESC system, it's best to get a proper diagnosis at a workshop that can confirm the sensor fault before you replace it. They can also check the yaw rate sensor signal. A faulty lateral acceleration sensor can definitely trigger those symptoms.

Took it to the workshop. They confirmed the lateral acceleration sensor was toast. Just shy of 1000€ later and the Tarraco is back on the road. Appreciate the input!

ABS light and system failure on a Tarraco usually points to sensor issues. The yaw rate sensor, part of the electronic stability control (ESC) system, relies on the lateral sensor to function. Have you scanned it with VCDS or similar to pull the specific fault code? That'd help narrow it down. Could also be wiring or a connector, but the control unit itself failing isn't unheard of. If the code points to the lateral sensor itself, check the wiring first before condemning the unit.
