Seat Tarraco Diesel Engine Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Seat Tarraco with a diesel engine was experiencing issues such as a warning light on the speedometer, reduced engine power, noticeable smoke during acceleration, and a strong exhaust smell. The suspected cause was a faulty exhaust back pressure sensor. After consulting with others who had similar issues, it was confirmed that the diesel exhaust pressure sensor was indeed the problem. Replacing the sensor resolved the issues, eliminating the warning light and restoring smooth engine performance.

Thanks for the quick reply! Did you also experience the reduced power and the exhaust smell at the same time? And how did you finally diagnose the pressure sensor?

Yes, the reduced power and smell were simultaneous. I used an OBD reader and got a code pointing to the pressure sensor. To be sure, I'd suggest having it checked at a workshop.

Just picked up the Seat from the workshop. It was the diesel exhaust pressure sensor. The part and labor came to 245€. The warning light is gone, and the engine is running smoothly again. Thanks for the help!

I had a similar problem with my Tarraco, although I didn't have the smoke. Reduced power and the exhaust smell were the same. Could be the diesel exhaust pressure sensor. They are known to fail.
