Seat Tarraco Engine Trouble

I'm getting desperate here. My 2019 Seat Tarraco with a gasoline engine is giving me headaches. The check engine light is on, and the car has lost power. It feels sluggish, and I'm burning more fuel than usual. Mileage is 95469 km. The error code points to a 'crankshaft to camshaft reference value' issue. Could it be a defective crank sensor causing all this misfire?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my Tarraco a while back. Check engine light, loss of power, the whole shebang. Did you notice any weird noises or rough idling?

Rough idling, yes! And sometimes it feels like it's about to stall. What was the solution in your case? Was it something to do with the timing chain?

Yep, crankshaft sensor was the culprit for me. The error code was the same. I wouldn't mess with the timing chain yourself unless you really know what you're doing. Best to take it to a workshop to get it checked out properly.

You were spot on! Took it to the workshop, and it was indeed the crankshaft sensor. They replaced it, and the car runs like new. Total cost was around 340€. Thanks for your help!
