Seat Tarraco Hybrid Engine Issues

My 2021 Seat Tarraco hybrid is showing some concerning symptoms. The check engine light is on, and the engine power seems reduced. Engine response is sluggish, and I've noticed higher fuel consumption. I've read that it might be a faulty manifold pressure sensor. Could a faulty pressure sensor cause these issues? Could it be a large vacuum leakage?

I also drive a Seat Tarraco, though I have the petrol version. I recall someone mentioning a similar problem on another forum, and it was indeed related to the manifold pressure sensor. Have you checked for any obvious vacuum leaks around the intake manifold? Sometimes a loose hose can trigger these symptoms. It might be worth inspecting before assuming sensor failure.

Thanks, that's helpful. I haven't checked for vacuum leaks myself, as I don't have much experience with car repairs. Where exactly should I be looking for these leaks around the intake manifold? Is it something I can easily see or feel?

While I can't be entirely certain without a proper diagnosis, the symptoms you describe do align with a potential manifold pressure sensor issue caused by a vacuum leak. A significant leak would affect the sensor readings, leading to the problems you're experiencing. Given your lack of experience, it might be best to take it to a qualified mechanic for inspection. They can perform a smoke test to pinpoint any leaks and properly diagnose the sensor. This way you prevent further damage.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to the workshop and they confirmed it was the manifold pressure sensor. Replaced it and now everything seems to be running smoothly. Cost me 235€.
