Seat Tarraco Hybrid Exhaust Issue

I'm having a real headache with my 2023 Seat Tarraco hybrid. The check engine light is on, and it's running really rough. I can smell a strong exhaust smell, and I'm pretty sure there's an exhaust leak somewhere. I've read it might be the lambda sensor, but I'm not sure where to start. Any ideas?

Whoa, that sounds rough! I had something similar with my Tarraco. Check engine light and a funky smell. Could be NOx sensors playing up or even a clogged particulate filter causing back pressure. Is the exhaust pipe itself okay? Any visible damage?

Thanks for the quick reply! No visible damage to the exhaust pipe that I can see. Where was the 'funky smell' coming from in your case? Was it also running rough? Did they mention anything about the oxygen sensor?

Yeah, mine was running rough as anything! The smell was strongest near the engine bay, so it wasn't a massive exhaust leak, more like fumes escaping. They did check the oxygen sensor, but it turned out the NOx sensors were the culprits. Seriously, get it to a workshop. They'll sort it way faster than you can at home.

Just got the car back from the shop. It was the lambda sensor. New one fitted and the exhaust leak fixed. Cost me 375€. Hopefully, that's the end of it.
