Seat Tarraco Hybrid Oil Pressure Warning

I own a 2021 Seat Tarraco hybrid. Recently, the oil pressure warning lamp lit up. I suspect contamination of engine oil. What could be the issue?

Oil pressure warnings are never fun. That mileage on a Tarraco hybrid suggests you're doing a lot of driving. Is the oil pressure warning light constant, or does it flicker? Have you checked the oil level? Low oil level can trigger the same warning. Also, have you noticed any unusual engine noises, like knocking or rattling? What oil have you been using, maybe you need some oil additives?

The oil level seems fine upon visual inspection. No unusual engine noises either. Regarding the oil type, I have always adhered to the manufacturer's specifications. What do you mean by 'oil sludge'?

If the oil level is correct and there are no strange noises, then oil sludge could be forming. This occurs when oil degrades over time, especially when maintenance intervals are missed. The degraded oil turns into a thick sludge that can restrict oil flow, hence the oil pressure warning. I'd recommend getting it checked by a workshop soon to avoid potential engine damage from oil leak.

The oil pressure light did signal an issue. The maintenance interval was exceeded quite a bit. The oil change and new filter cost 165€ Thanks for the advice!
