Seat Tarraco Hybrid Transmission Problems

I've got a bit of a head-scratcher here. My 2023 Seat Tarraco hybrid is acting up. The automatic transmission is shifting all kinds of wrong, and the transmission indicator light is now a permanent fixture on my dashboard. It barely shifts, and I think it's stuck in some kind of emergency mode. Could worn out car transmission oil cause these transmission problems?

Slipping transmission and the transmission light coming on sounds familiar. I had similar car transmission problems with my Tarraco a while back, although I drive a petrol version. Have you checked the hydraulic fluid levels?

Hydraulic fluid, you say? Where exactly do I check that? Is it the same as the car transmission oil?

Okay, it's not exactly the same, but low hydraulic fluid can definitely mess with your automatic transmission. However, given the emergency mode and indicator light, I’d say get it checked by someone who knows what they're doing. My issue ended up being related to voltage, and it messed with the transmission control unit. Could be something similar for you, especially since it's a hybrid. Best not to risk further damage with a slipping transmission.

Thanks for the help. Turns out you were right. Took it to a workshop, and they found undervoltage was causing the issues. They did a car transmission oil replacement and charged 240€. Everything seems to be working fine now.
