Seat Tarraco immobilizer problem

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I've got a 2023 Seat Tarraco, hybrid engine. Recently, it's developed an immobilizer problem. Sometimes the engine won't start at all, other times it starts briefly and then cuts out. I've got an error stored in the error memory suggesting it's a key programming issue, but I'm not sure where to begin. Any ideas?

Sounds similar to a problem I had with my Tarraco. Does the error memory show anything specific about the immobilizer? When mine did that, it was intermittent at first – engine would start then cut out almost immediately. Then it just refused to start. The key seemed fine, but the car electronics were definitely unhappy.

Did you manage to fix it yourself, or did you have to take it somewhere? I'm wondering if there's a way to do an immobilizer bypass, but I'm not too familiar with car electronics. I've checked the usual stuff, like the battery, but no luck.

I had to get it fixed at a workshop. I looked into an immobilizer bypass, but it seemed a bit risky and complicated, plus I didn't want to mess anything else up with the car electronics. For me, it turned out the key needed reprogramming – something was off with the key signal apparently. I'd recommend getting it checked professionally, as it could save you a lot of hassle.

Took it to a specialist who checked the key signal and confirmed the car immobilizer was activating due to a key programming fault. They recoded the key, and it's working now. Cost 45€, so I'm pleased. Thanks for the help!
