Seat Tarraco Radar Sensor Issue Resolved

I am experiencing a rather alarming issue with my 2021 Seat Tarraco, diesel engine, with 58560 km on the clock. The radar sensor appears to be malfunctioning. I receive an error message on the speedometer, there is an error stored in the error memory, several systems are failing, and a warning light is constantly illuminated. Is it possible that a dirty sensor is really causing this? Is radar calibration necessary?

I own a Seat Tarraco too, although I am not sure of the year. I experienced something similar a while back. The adaptive cruise control and other safety systems kept malfunctioning. It turned out to be a sensor malfunction, if I remember correctly. Have you checked if anything is obstructing the radar sensor? It might sound simple, but that could be the problem.

Thank you for your reply. Where exactly is the radar sensor located on the Tarraco? And what kind of obstruction are we talking about? Mud, snow, something else?

Yes, my issue was also with the radar sensor affecting the adaptive cruise control and safety systems. On my Tarraco, the radar sensor is behind the front bumper, usually on the driver's side. In my case, it was simply a build-up of dirt and road grime. Although the sensor should be somewhat protected, it is still exposed to the elements. I am no expert, but I would recommend taking it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis to be certain.

Good news! It was indeed a dirty radar sensor. I cleaned it myself, and the error message disappeared. All systems are working as expected now. The only cost was for the cleaning product. Thank you for your assistance!
