Seat Tarraco Rain Light Sensor Fault

Alright, I'm scratching my head over this one. My 2019 Seat Tarraco with a gasoline engine, about 171639 km on the clock, is throwing a rain-light sensor fault. What’s weird is the symptoms: error stored in the error memory, no automatic wiping mode in the rain, no automatic headlight control, AND the speedometer dimming doesn’t work. Oh, and to top it off, the lights switch on. I'm suspecting it's something more than just a faulty rain sensor. I've checked the basic fuses, but I'm not sure where to go from here. Any ideas?

Whoa, sounds rough! Had something similar happen with my Peugeot. Is the rain sensor integrated with the headlight sensor on your Tarraco?

Integrated, yes, but on your Peugeot, did it also affect the speedometer dimming and cause the lights to switch on all the time? I'm trying to narrow down if it's the same electrical fault or something completely different.

Yeah, mine did the exact same. I'd bet money on the sensor being the problem. Best get the sensor calibration checked at a workshop.

Turns out bubbles forming under the gel pad of the windshield were the culprits. They replaced the gel pad and did a sensor calibration. 62€ later, and everything's back to normal! Thanks for the tip, it really pointed me in the right direction.
