Seat Tarraco rough idle issue

Uneven idling and an error code certainly point to a potential engine mount issue. However, it's crucial to differentiate between a failed mount itself and a problem with its associated components. Given your Tarraco is a 2022 model, complete mount wear is less probable, although not impossible depending on driving conditions. Check the transmission mount as well. The error memory suggesting a defective cable or plug connection is a strong lead. Carefully inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the engine mount's sensor (if equipped) for any signs of damage, corrosion, or loose connections. A multimeter can be used to test for continuity. Is the error intermittent, or is it constantly present

Okay, thanks A multimeter right. Where exactly is this engine mount sensor thingy, and what should the multimeter be reading

While it's impossible to diagnose definitively without a hands-on inspection, the symptoms and error code strongly suggest a problem within the engine mount's electrical circuit, rather than a complete failed mount of the rubber mount itself. I understand your reluctance to delve deeply without specific guidance. At this point, given your stated experience level, I would recommend taking your Tarraco to a qualified workshop. Explain the troubleshooting steps you've already taken and emphasize the potential cable/connection issue. This should help them focus their diagnostic efforts and potentially save you some labor costs. A damaged mounting bracket can sometimes mimic these symptoms as well

Thanks a bunch You were spot on. Took it to the shop, they found a faulty connection like you suspected. 95€ later and she's purring like a kitten again
