Seat Tarraco Transmission Issues

I'm experiencing some issues with my 2019 Seat Tarraco with a gasoline engine. It has some kilometers on it. The transmission indicator light and check engine light are on. The automatic transmission is in emergency mode and doesn't shift correctly; it slips and sometimes makes grinding noises. I scanned the error memory, and it points towards a radiator oil pressure defect. Could a defective cable or plug connection of the component really be the cause?

That sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old Audi A4: transmission light, emergency mode, the works. Did you check the cooling fan? If it's not working correctly, it could lead to overheating, affecting the oil cooler and causing pressure issues. Also, have you noticed any coolant leaks? A drop in coolant level might point to a leak somewhere in the system.

Thanks for the quick reply! The cooling fan seems to be working, and the coolant level is normal. But you mentioned a pressure issue related to the oil cooler. Was it a specific sensor in your case, or something else?

Yes, it was the pressure sensor itself that was faulty on my Audi. The mechanic initially suspected the entire oil cooler, but thankfully, it was just the sensor. Given your error code and symptoms, it does sound like a sensor or its wiring. I recommend taking it to a workshop to get a proper diagnosis. They can check the sensor readings and wiring harness. It's better to be safe when it comes to the transmission.

Just to let you know, it was the pressure sensor cable! The workshop found a defective plug connection and repaired it for 95€. The transmission is shifting smoothly again. Thanks for the help!
