Seat Toledo 2006 fan malfunction: experiences and solutions

Hey sports fans, I have a problem with my 2006 Seat Toledo. The fan is not working properly and I suspect that the fresh air blower may be defective. Have any of you had similar experiences and can give me tips on where exactly the problem could be and how it was fixed in the workshop? Many thanks in advance!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2008 Seat Alhambra. As you know, Alhambra is a different model of the same brand. I would say that my experience with car repairs is rather limited. In my case, the blower motor was actually defective. At my garage, they removed the blower motor, disposed of the old motor and fitted a new one. That cost me 365 euros. To be able to help you better, I would need more detailed information about your car. For example, how many kilometers has it covered so far? What maintenance work has been carried out so far? Are any fault codes displayed? That way we could dig deeper and give better advice. Hope this helps you a little.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. My Toledo now has 162650 km on the clock and the last inspection was about half a year ago. No error codes are currently displayed. Hope that helps. Thank you!

Hi, it's good that you provided the additional information. With 162650 km on the clock, the Toledo is no longer the youngest, so wearing parts can break. As I said, the blower motor was defective in my Alhambra, which is quite possible given the age of your Toledo. As no fault codes are displayed, it's difficult to say without having a specialist take a look. Based on my experience, however, I would assume that the fresh air blower is faulty. You should perhaps take it to the garage and have it checked. If it really is the fan, I can at least tell you that it cost me around 365 euros to replace it. So if it's just the problem, it would definitely be repairable. I hope that helps you.

Hey, thanks for the detailed answer. You're right, the little one isn't the youngest anymore. And yes, I think I should take it to the garage and have it checked. Your information was very helpful and 365 euros seems a fair price if the blower really does need replacing. I'm more reassured now, thanks for your help!
