Seat Toledo ABS Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Seat Toledo experienced an ABS fault, indicated by the ABS lamp being on and the system not functioning. The issue was traced to a lateral acceleration sensor fault, which is typically integrated into the ABS control unit. The suggested solution involved replacing the entire control unit, a task not recommended as a DIY due to the need for coding the new unit to the car. The repair was confirmed by a garage, resolving the ABS and electronic stability issues.

The light usually comes on after driving a few meters, especially when turning. Is it a big job to replace the lateral sensor? Is it something I could do myself?

Replacing the lateral sensor usually means replacing the entire ABS control unit, as it's integrated. It's not a simple DIY job because it involves coding the new unit to your car. If you're not experienced with car electronics, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. A faulty lateral sensor will affect the vehicle stability and is a safety concern.

Thanks for the assistance. The garage confirmed the lateral sensor in the control unit was faulty. It cost 1000€ to repair, but the ABS and electronic stability are now working correctly.

It sounds like a faulty lateral sensor in your ABS unit. The ABS light and system failure are classic symptoms, and the error code confirms it. Does the light come on immediately when you start the car, or only when you start driving and cornering?
