Seat Toledo AC failure

Blast it all! My 2012 Seat Toledo diesel's air conditioning has completely given up the ghost. It simply refuses to switch on; no cooling whatsoever. From what I've been reading, it sounds like it could be individual valves within the AC system packing it in. Has anyone experienced this? Dreading what this might cost me…

Good questions! Now that you mention it, there was a faint hissing sound a few weeks back, but it disappeared quickly. AC maintenance? Honestly, it's been neglected. As for temperature control, zero effect. Just warm air. Blower motor seems to be working fine; I can definitely hear it.

Alright, I appreciate the confirmation. Dropped it at the shop this morning. Diagnosis is exactly as you described: faulty valves needing replacement. Quoted the expected 1000€. Painful, but at least I know what's up. Thanks again for the insight.

Hmm, that's not good. Intermittent AC issues can be tricky. Since it's completely dead, have you noticed any unusual AC noise lately, like a hissing sound? Also, when was the last time you had AC maintenance performed? Could be something as simple as a refrigerant leak. Do the temperature control settings seem to have any effect at all, or is it just blowing warm air regardless? One more thing, can you hear the blower motor running?
