I've checked the battery voltage with a multimeter, and it seems normal when the engine is running. However, it drops significantly overnight, which is why I suspect the battery sensor. How could I check if the alternator is faulty?

If the battery depletes overnight despite a healthy alternator, then a defective battery sensor is plausible. It could be providing incorrect data to the ECU, leading to improper battery charge management. This may require a workshop visit.

Diagnostics confirmed the battery sensor was defective. Replacement cost 315€ including parts and labor. Thanks for the help.

Flickering lights and starting issues can be concerning. Are you certain it's the battery sensor? Have you tested the battery voltage when idling and under load? Low voltage might mean a failing alternator, which can cause similar symptoms.
