Seat Toledo diesel engine issue

I'm having some engine issues with my 2014 Seat Toledo diesel. The check engine light came on, and I noticed a reduction in engine power. The engine also runs rough sometimes. I used a diagnostic tool, and it showed an error related to the intake air temperature sensor. Mileage is at 168343 km. Could a defective IAT sensor cause these symptoms?

Sounds like a faulty intake air temperature sensor. Had similar engine issues with my Toledo a while back. Check engine light, rough running. I'd suggest getting it checked with a diagnostic tool to confirm.

Thanks for your quick reply! Did your diagnostic tool also point to the air sensor, or were there other error codes? And did replacing it solve all the engine issues?

Yes, the diagnostic tool pointed directly to the IAT sensor in my case too. Replacing the temperature sensor fixed all the problems, the engine ran fine after that. I suggest you visit a workshop.

Took the Toledo to a local workshop. They confirmed it was the IAT sensor. Replaced it, and the check engine light is gone; engine runs smoothly again. The diagnostic tool doesn't show any errors anymore. Total cost was 155€, which is within my budget. Thanks for your help!
