Intake manifold pressure sensor… Is that the same as the boost pressure sensor? And where exactly is that located? I'm not particularly familiar with the engine components.

Yes, boost pressure sensor and intake manifold pressure sensor are often used interchangeably. It's usually located somewhere on the intake manifold, where the air enters the engine. Given all the symptoms, and that you suspect a faulty sensor, it's worth getting it checked out by a workshop.

I appreciate you sharing your experience. It seems that the defective cable to the boost pressure sensor was indeed the problem. The repair cost 95€. The car is running smoothly again.

Sounds familiar. I had something similar with my Toledo. Is it throwing up any engine light codes? Check the intake manifold pressure sensor – that was the culprit for me. Any weird noises coming from the engine when it's acting up?
